Dr. Brian Duncan joined the Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center in 2011 after serving as an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center for four years. Dr. Duncan offers a number of treatments for chronic, acute, and sports-related orthopedic injuries and conditions, including total knee and hip replacement, rotator cuff repair, arthroscopy, cubital tunnel and carpal tunnel release, tendon repair, ACL reconstruction, and wrist arthrodesis. His nonsurgical treatments include corticosteroid injections and viscosupplementation for joints.

A graduate of Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, Dr. Duncan attended The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee, to earn his medical degree. He finished his training through an orthopedic surgery residency at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

In his practice, Dr. Duncan enjoys directly contributing to each patient's recovery and improvement. He considers how he would treat a family member or friend when developing treatment plans for any one of his patients and bases his recommendations on the latest orthopedic literature and his experience. Ultimately, he strives to be honest, respectful, and empathetic with all of his patients.

What Dr. Duncan enjoys most is getting people back to work, back to the playing field, and back to doing the activities that they love. In addition to his regular practice, he serves as the team physician for Missouri Western State University as well as Lafayette High School in St. Joseph, Missouri. Outside of working with athletes and patients, Dr. Duncan enjoys hunting, fishing, and other outdoor adventures.
